Ashok’s eyes widen in astonishment, the impact of the discovery leaving him simply in shock. Ho’led first approaches the alien storage locker — an experienced duster, he begins to check what’s inside, with Cam helping from behind. The canned food looks interesting but not the main thing — Ho’led eyes sparkle as he picks up a heavy rifle, and he begins to stroke and explore it. Cam also finds an alien-sized space-suit that almost fits Jericho who takes it. Cam finds himself a pair of gloves made of a thin, self-adjusting material – he feels the gloves increase the power and control of his hands and fingers.
After the excitement subsides, Cam tries to turn on the computer systems again, but they realize they have to reinstall the Biolumicron tank back in the spacecraft’s engine room. The tank is heavy and cumbersome, and almost falls to the ground as they reinstall it, but eventually the spacecraft lights up again and starts humming softly. Cam manages to break into the spacecraft’s systems and all three are mesmerized by the wealth of information. The fate of the spacecraft is revealed to them: It seems that someone or something sabotaged one of the spacecraft’s engines, which prevented it from taking off as the third sun approached Omega. The spacecraft itself is huge, capable of accommodating thousands of people and within it there are many resources that can be looted — they realize this is the biggest discovery since landing on Omega.
Jericho’s vision becomes clearer and he realizes that they have indeed found the key to Omega’s salvation – and not just this spaceship! The database showed them another functional spacecraft located near the equator. Cam also manages to access a dormant satellite network, which presents them with a full map of the planet, revealing a number of green and thriving areas near the equator, areas that can might meet all the needs of the settlers.
Overwhelmed by the information, they talk excitedly, wondering how to lead the people of Omega to a better future, while keeping all this a secret lest someone plunders it. Although they know Dave Thompson, they are not sure he can be trusted. Unanimously, they decide to keep the spacecraft’s location a secret, and as a first step return to Petra to find allies they can trust.
They make their way out of the alien spacecraft. Deciding to be careful, they send Cam to quietly patrol outside and make sure their vehicle is still secure. This step turns out to be wise — when Cam comes out of the ship’s entrance shaft, he spots a foreign duster standing in front of him on top of a dune. The duster scans the area and shouts out to his companions — but does not see Cam.
They decide to wait until the duster leaves, which indeed happens after a few minutes. Cam advances and spots three more vehicles parked next to their vehicle, all belonging to the gang from which Ashok stole their vehicle from. It seems that all the dusters are back in their vehicles now.
The rest of the group joins Cam, and they debate whether to attack or wait. Ho’led is eager to attack the dusters, as one who knows them he claims they will not leave their prey and will return again and again until they find them or the spaceship. Jericho leads a more moderate line, arguing that if they are to bring salvation to humanity, they should not murder other human beings. He prefers to wait until the Dusters leave and then return to Petra. Cam is undecided, but then the Dusters’ leader emerges from his armored vehicle – an oversized Decker, with his hands replaced for metal fists with attached rocket launchers. He roars at the Dusters to continue to search the area until they found something.
The decision is made for them, and the gang prepares for the attack. Cam sneaks towards the vehicles, while Jericho and Ho’led take their place a dune overlooking the parked vehicles . When the Dusters’ leader comes out, Cam identifies him as “Steel Punch”, a mobster! Ho’led aims the new alien rifle he found, with Jericho’s psychic powers helping him concentrate. He shoots Steel Punch directly, as a burst of energy penetrates his armor with ease. The dusters react, beginning to storm up the dune, but Cam throws a Sonic grenade at them, and with a precise strike — blows them to pieces. Steel Punch employs his powered rocket fists and with a mighty leap he closes the distance, landing in front of Ho’led, pushing him back into the sand. Another group of dusters storms forward when one of them is surprisingly attacked by a Venus Sand Trap. Cam manages to block the rest with another grenade — there is no doubt that the grenades have proven themselves worth every credit.
Steel Punch continues his attack, focusing his rage on Ho’led, unnoticing Jericho who swings his sword powerfully, managing to stab him directly in the chest — the blade penetrating his whole body. Jericho’s luck seems to have lifted his spirit. But despite the extensive damage done to him, Steel Punch does not fall. At that moment, Ashok, forgotten from the minds of all participants in the battle, surprises Steel Punch and attaches his scrap-shooter directly to Steel Punch’s shimmering cranium. He pulls the trigger, murmuring “Dodge This!” under his breath.
